Happy Friday Lisa: I received a great response to our cookie test ! I thought that I would share how my conversations went with both prospects: Cold call #`1 Top 500 I was able to talk directly to the Vice President. He loved the cookie and said that it was devoured immediately after receiving it . He also said that of course he would have time for me, how could he not have time to learn about my company after receiving such a nice treat for his team. We spent 20 minutes discussing our solution and he was extremely engaged and interested. Cold Call #2 - Top 500 I was able to talk again to the Vice President. He loved the cookie said that it was delicious and that he loved the creative touch and effort to reach him. Steven said, he absolutely had time to talk with me about my company. We talked for approximately 30 minutes. We are coordinating schedules with his IT director and the President and will have a demo on the calendar with them for next week by the end of the day! I had recently purchased a giant birthday cookie from you on May 19th 2005, because I was going to surprise my girlfriend a few days before her birthday with a romantic dinner. (We had seen it on a dessert show on TV and I remembered that she really liked it). So I had the cookie shipped to the restaurant in South Florida that we were going to eat at. I had them serve it as a dessert. Little did my "then girlfriend" know that her life was about to change. I was actually taking her there to propose. I had the ring in my pocket with a letter which mirrored the words that were printed on the fortune inside the cookie, because I knew that when she saw how cool the cookie was, she wouldn't want to open it. So I read her the letter from my pocket and got down on one knee and asked her to be my wife! She said.... YES!!! It was the best day of my life. I thought you'd get a kick out of this.
You know how I send these cookies to my clients. Well, I had a client and he got it but did not know who it came from and thought it was very nice, but did not open the wrapping. He was invited to dinner from another couple and he brought the cookie as a thank you gift to the couple for the invite to dinner. Well, after dinner, the hostess brought out the cookie so they could all share it and guess what was in the cookie! Yeah you guessed right, my little fortune saying thank you to the client. Can you imagine the look of horror he must have had when she said oh what's this and it was written out to him and he passed it off as a gift to her!!!!! I was crying when I heard that one!!
